If I Start From The Beginning,Most Of This Blog Posts Are One Of My Experiences And Problems I Have Faced.I Learned How To Solve Them And Then I Posted Articles About It.

Today I’m Gonna Write An Article About A Problem Which I Faced And Found Most Of The Beginner Bloggers Also Face The Same Problem.

The Day When I Started Using Google Analytics For This Blog,I Used To Have Traffic Of About 200 Views Or More.I Was Wonder And Frankly Telling Happy Too At The Same Time Because 1.I Was Getting 200 And More View On First Day 2.How A Blog That Is Not Even Known To SEO,Is Getting 200+ Views On In Starting Days Of It?

And Then I Started Keeping My Eyes On The Traffic Details.

I Checked The Traffic Referrals And Found That Most Of The Traffic Was From Sites Like floating-share-buttons.com,social-buttons.com,Which I Don’t Even Know About.

These Sites Were Spam Sites That Divert Some Fake Traffic To Your Website.

Why These Site Drive Fake Traffic To Your Site?

The Internet Is Full Of Marketing Strategies.Every Site On Internet Wants To Market Itself,But They Use A Legal Specific Way Like Advertising And All.

Sites Like  floating-share-buttons.com,social-buttons.com,Drive Some Fake Traffic To Your Website.What Target Website Owners Do Is,They Check Their Traffic Referrals In Google Analytics,Find These Spam Websites And Go To The Websites To Know About Them.

That’s What These Websites Get.Real Traffic.We Visit The Website And They Get Real Traffic In Return Of Fake Traffic.

So,How Can We Stop Them From Showing Spam Traffic On Google Analytics Dashboard?

This Unwanted Spam Traffic Can Be Stopped Using Google Analytics Itself By Using Some Filters.

Let Me Walk You Through The Entire Process With All Steps So That Know More Websites Spam Your Analytics And You Get Pure View Of Your Traffic.

Step 1.

Log Into Your Google Analytics Account And Click Admin Tab.

Step 2.

You Can See Three Sections On Your Screen.Account,Property And View.

Under Property Section Click Tracking Info And Go To Referral Exclusion List From Menu And Click On It As Shown In Screenshot Below

Step 3.

Now Under Referral Exclusion List,Click On Add Referral Exclusion Tab.

Step 4.

Now A Empty Domain Bar Appears.Add The Website Which Spam Your Google Analytics And Click Create Button.You Can Add As Many Websites You Wanna Add.

Step 5.

Once You Are Done Adding Website Here,Go Back To Your Admin Tab.Under Account Section Click All Filters And Click New Filter.

Step 6.

Now We Are Going To Create A New Filter.

  • Fill A Filter Name In Filter Name Tab.(I Named It Referral Spam)
  • Under Filter Type Select Custom Tab.
  • Under Filter Field,Select Campaign  Source From The Drop Down Menu.
  • Now Under Filter Pattern,Add All The Website You Want To Block For Google Analytics. Separate Website Names Using This-  |

Step 7.

Once You Are Done Adding Websites,Click Save At Bottom.

You Have Successfully Added All The Spam Websites To Block Them From Google Analytics.

 

So This Is How You Can Save Your Google Analytics Data From Being Spammed.
